OK, TAF2009... Took me a while to figure out what is stands for, since the official name is Tokyo International Anime Fair. Guess it wasn't really international ;) That was the first anime event I ever went to, will also be the last. I kinda expected more of this event, like lots of performances and demonstrations. But guess it's really for the hardcore anime fans. It was all about running around and collecting goodies, mainly flyers. A good way of getting new anime series you might want to check out. As for the bazaar, beyond useless...
Fun things at the event? The cute cosplay flyer-girls, strange plastic heads walking around, mousepads with boobs, and the "don't ask" moments. There wasn't much of cosplay by visitors, but every time you saw one: A foreigner, either a male cross dressing or a huge (fat) girl trying to be small and cute >_>
To summarize this day, not really the best way to spend your time. Especially in Tokyo, since time is twice as fast here ;) before you know it a day passed already! Anyway, too many waiting lines and most likely you will end up walking around in a maze with anime posters (NEVER join a queuing line at anime events, unless you know what's inside and you want to see it!)
If you're just a little into anime (like me); Go Akihabara and don't forget the maids cafés :P (post about this later)
As for the Cherry Blossoms, AKA Sakura. I joined the Sakura House (accommodation company) Hanami event. And it was cold! The sakura's aren't at full blossom yet, few more days -_-; Will post better sakura pictures next week.
It was still a nice "party" though. Free sushi! (Drinks you had to bring along yourself.) And somehow there are a lot of French people here in Tokyo, maybe because of Tokyo Tower?
Ow yeah, think I'll follow a Japanese course now. I'm good at putting things off till the last moment. Seems like now is the time to learn Japanese, if I ever want to learn the language that is. Lucky me there's a Learn Japanese Place just around the corner from my workplace!
That's it for now, don't feel like typing more. Check the pictures and leave a comment :P
