20 Maart 2009 | Japan, Tokio

Well, here is my second post (finally). Was planning to post something every few days, but that's not going to happen. Time really flies here in Tokyo, before you know it another day has passed!
Well, so far I'm really enjoying my time in Tokyo. There's just way too much to do, I'm starting to understand why everybody here is always in a hurry.

For now I've only been checking out Shibuya and Harajuku. Lucky me the commuter-pass I got allows me to travel between my home and Shibuya for "free". Really useful, since Shibuya is one of the best places to go out for dinner. Not to mention that from Shibuya station you can pretty much go anywhere ;)

As for Harajuku area, great fashion place. I needed to go there to buy my little sister a birthday present. Besides that Harajuku is famous for it's boutiques, there's of course the cosplay thingy going on. Although I'm very disappointed of what I saw last Sunday. Expected (much more) kawaii-ness!!!
Anyway, Harajuku is a great place, check the pixtures!

Ow yeah, I'm finally getting used to this place. Now I start running around on stations as well, just to catch the train standing there and arrive somewhere else 5min earlier! And finally I'm not getting lost anymore, at least not at Shibuya. Something that didn't get me yet is the eating. Japanese people eat FAST!!! How can they say they enjoy their food, if they finish everything in 30 min?! (a complete meal + drinks)
One last thing, sleeping on a futon is nice! I somehow don't mind it that it's not as soft as a real bad, put it away every morning, and prepare it every night. Somehow I feel great every day and wake up before 6:30 AM! (even when I go to sleep way passed 1:00AM)

O well, that's it for now. Hope I can attach some pictures, internet of my guesthouse is useless. And wish me luck, tomorrow I'm going to Tokyo Bayside. New everything, will try not to get lost >_>

PS. This travel-blog is a fail. Not only I am a little chaotic, this place only allows 10 pics (very low quality). For pics, check the following link:

    Chuck:

    Yay, photo's!
Japanese people are funny... And maybe next time there are 'better' cosplayers at Harajuku.
Have fun at Tokyo Bayside tomorrow ;)

    Kuro:

It looks great over there. Hopefully you're not rushing too much. Looking at your status, you're there for another 77 days. So take your time, and make lots of pictures. =D

    C.Woot:

one thing am not that in a hurry to try is the futon ^^

    by the way, lucky you:
"Due to a mild February and March, cherry blossoms are opening
one to two weeks ahead of their average schedule this year.
The season started particularly early on Kyushu, where Fukuoka
saw cherry trees open their blossoms on March 13, almost two weeks
earlier than average. With the mercury rising over 20 degrees over
large parts of Japan on March 19 again, blossoms opened in Nagoya
and Kyoto. Tokyo followed on March 21."
