Friday 22nd of May; Fuji and Yokohama

Only about two weeks left in Japan T_T, it’s time to work like mad now. But despite of the working, more than 8 hours a day, I will try and keep my blog updated. Last locations I will visit in Japan are Shirakawago Village in Gifu prefecture and Kizaki Lake (again), still busy planning this. Hopefully I can manage it all.
As for today’s topics, Fuji and Yokohama, with Fuji being the last thing I did in Goldenweek. Yokohama I checked on a Sunday after Goldenweek. Will keep things short today, unlikely the last two posts, cause I’m a bit busy.

Before jumping to the topics, I will write some cultural things first. During my stay here I visited some cultural things, like museums. Pictures of all these cultural things are put together with the Yokohama pictures. In most places taking pictures wasn’t allowed, instead I made some pictures of flyers and postcards I got from those locations. Of course I tried to take some pictures ~_^, which are also online.
To summarize the cultural things: Akiba Live Park, Art Museum at Harajuku, Special exhibition at Ueno Museum, Kimono Landscape exhibition, Ice and Wind Cave , Special exhibition at Nara Museum, Omachi Salt Museum, Onsens, and Izakaya’s.
Just like last post, some YouTube-links. Records are not from the best artist, but thanks to my great camera-knowledge, I accidently removed the movies of the good artists while trying to remove pictures >_>

As for Yokohama, planning was quite tight:
- Sankeien Garden
- Minato Mirai 21 (city centre)
- Yokohama Chinatown
- Ramen Museum
- Bayside area
- Motomachi and Yamate
Had to drop out the “Sankeien Garden” cause I arrived to late and it was closed, also dropped out
“Motomachi and Yamate” (former residential area of foreign merchants) and Bayside area special event (EXPO Y150) cause of lack of time.
Minato Mirai was the modern city centre in Yokohama, also checked the Landmark Tower here (wasn’t on the planning). World’s fastest elevator, 750meter/minute. In simple words: 69 floors within 30 seconds!
Ramen Museum was the first thing I checked when arriving there, had my lunch there. Nice place, but expensive.
Bayside area I’ve only seen a small part, skipped the special events things there (mentioned earlier).
Yokohama Chinatown was the last place I checked, had dinner there. Check pictures, since I keep the amount of text as short as possible.

Last Topic for today, Fuji! Check the pictures, very short description here:
Went there with two French guys, one of them is from my workplace. On the way made some attempts to make pictures of Fuji while in the train. Arrived there, checking area around the biggest lake of the Fuji Five Lakes. Checked Hostel and that was the first day. Second day we tried to climb Fuji, didn’t reach the top cause of lack of time >_< After Fuji climb quickly checking Ice and Wind Cave, and head back to Tokyo.

So, that's it for this post. Best place in Japan I visited is:
Kizaki Lake

Will try to visit Shirakawago Village, used as setting for Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Kai/Rei). But doubt this place will be better than Kizaki, cause it's also marked as tourist area.

    Chuck:

Actually came to see how many days you had left in Japan, I know it couldn't be much but... 1 day, lol :P I guess I'll see you soon then ;)
Again a late response, due to my own delay of improtant stuff, which is haunting me now ^^.
Thanks for your second postcard btw, my dad already claimed the postage stamp again.
Well, I hope you got to finish your research, enjoy your trip back to Europe and I'll see you soon!

    C.
